Yilan Part 2

Have you ever been paragliding? Well, paragliding is when you run off a cliff with a kite attached to you while carrying a selfie stick.  That's what I did on the third day in Yilan. It was really fun. The views were amazing. The people working even taped my shoes to my feet so they wouldn't fall off. I'd do it again, but I would want the ride to be longer. At that time the ride was about three minutes.  In the sky, I could see the whole beach, and the cafe I called the Cheese House, it looked like a wedge of cheese.

After paragliding, we played at the beach for a while. Then went to the place we were staying at. After going to dinner we went trash picking-uping at the beach. It's pretty sad how much trash there is on the beach.

Day four. We went to a water park, it wasn't the best water park, but it was ok. I think my favorite part was when this guy's brother kept calling him, really loudly, that we ended up knowing his name. Let's just say you had to be there to get it. Also, I liked when we practiced waking a pole with a towel. There is a way to do it really hard, it's an art, and it takes time to master.

On the fifth day, the four of us took a bus to Jiaoxi. We stayed at a pretty fancy hotel. The room even had kimonos. Out on the porch, there was a Japanese-style bathtub. The porch had a wall of course. For dinner we went shrimping, it took a long time to catch one.  The lady gave us extra shrimp so our money was worth it. Dai made the shrimp super salty, but it was still good.

Saturday was the last day in Yilan. The hotel breakfast was amazing. there was a salad bar, pastries, juices, and so much more. My dad loved it the most I think.

After breakfast, we took a bus back to Taipei.

  5. You’re so brave to parasail 🪂 and want to be in the sky even longer next time. You and your family are making Taiwan beaches a better place in picking up the trash. Nice treat to experience the Japanese influence in taiwan. My grandfather only spoke Japanese and Taiwanese as he experienced the Japanese living in Taiwan and helping the country build infrastructure.

  8. I love reading about all of your adventures! You’ve done so many things that most people don’t get to do in their lifetime. I’m so glad that you’re also taking the time to give back and pick up the beaches. Are there any pictures of you all in the kimonos?
